American Black Vulture

I just love the face of this bird. It looks like an ancient statue. The biological reason of their bare heads is actually to help them in keeping clean while they are eating carrion (gross…).

Eastern Screech Owl

I just thought it would be cute to post a picture of a small owl, just before Christmas. We see so many owl decorations in the stores! When this owl doesn’t move, it’s very hard to notice in nature because its plumage resembles the bark of old trees.

Lammergeier

This bird is called a lammergeier. It’s funny, it reminds me of jagermeister the way it’s spelled and pronounced. A more common name would be “bearded vulture”. Anyway, I just thought it was cute with his nice little beard, so here’s a portrait of the bird.
